Subprogram in Advanced Agricultural Technology and Science
Outline
Advanced Agricultural Technology and Science Field, which constitutes “Subprogram in Advanced Agricultural Technology and Science cooperated with NARO”, is managed by scientists of NARO who are also instructors of the Cooperate Graduate School. It covers research fields of advanced agricultural technology and science such as innovative crop production and quality control system, innovative animal production system, and innovative crop breeding and cultivation system. The subprogram is intended for students who have studied a Master program (or first two years of doctoral program) in related field. By providing guidance on research, this subprogram also aims to develop professionals who will learn and ensure stable food supply, food safety, and reduction in negative environmental impacts while strengthening agricultural platforms and increasing its productivity in Japan and worldwide.
Characteristics
- The campus is the National Agriculture and Food Research Organization (NARO).
- Professors are the researchers in the pioneering areas of agricultural science and technology.
- Students may have the opportunity to participate in project research.
- Institutes and laboratories provide strong support and instructions.
- Adult graduate students can earn a PhD degree without having to terminate their current job or study.
